Depression Treatment Tips
Some people may be unaware of this fact, but the statistic remains that nearly 26 million people in our country are suffering some sort of depression. Everyone on the planet has probably felt depressed at some point or another. But these statistic people I just quoted spend the majority of their days facing depression. Depression is a frightening reality and can affect anyone. That’s why it’s vital to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. So here are some depression treatment facts. First you want to achieve remission of the depression. That means you have erased all of your symptoms. The next step you want to achieve is continuing that remission. Those are the goals of treating depression. Sounds pretty simple, but this is a lifelong battle for those who suffer from depression. Depression tends to recur if it is not properly treated and maintained. The fact of the matter is that everything is o.k. for a while but then when the medication runs out, or gets forgotten, or the patient thinks that they are cured and no longer need treatment, the depression can come back even stronger and be more difficult to get rid of. That’s why it is important to maintain treatment and always be aware that depression is no laughing matter. According to one website, treatment for depression happens in three sections. The first stage’s goal is to relieve the symptoms. This treatment usually runs in a time frame six to eight weeks. The second phase deals with sustaining that remission. This time frame is usually around four to five months. If the symptoms return during this time, it is called a relapse. The third stage is called the maintenance stage. The goal of this stage is to maintain treatment therapy in order to prevent a new episode of depression.

A Coke Story
Growing up as a movie producer’s son in the 80’s was no easy deal. There were no boundaries, no rules. The people surrounding me acted like they were going to live forever. But that was probably due to all the cocaine that flowed in on every breeze. Sure, from the outside everything looked like a lot of fun.And I won’t lie, it certainly was a lot of fun. But after a certain point the fun stopped and a dark world took its place. Addictions to coke began to take hold on pretty much everyone I knew. Very successful people in the industry, who had the world in the palm of their hands, now had cocaine addictions in the core of their beings. No one knew it would happen. It always started out innocently enough. Just try a little at someone’s house and have a good time. Pretty soon meetings would be fueled by cocaine. Everyone thought that they were immune or not doing coke enough to become addicted. They told themselves that one toot in the morning to get going was normal and o.k. Maybe have another one because lunch was skipped. And maybe a few in between meetings. But before anyone knew, it would be night time, and that’s the time to party so… And in the 80’s it basically was normal, but never o.k.
